03.13 - 03.23.2012

The last few weeks have been consumed with work for me, studio for Scott, and the best part - preparing for my cousin's wedding! I was so honored and thrilled to serve as Matron of Honor and photographer for the event. It was my first wedding to photograph, and with the help of my amazing husband and wonderful mother (who served as photographers during the ceremony), it was a huge success! I am still in the process of editing the 529 total images (yikes!), but the pictures are beautiful and I will post them on my photography blog hopefully sometime this week :)

As for the photo-a-day... I missed a couple days here and there, as-per-usual, but here are the next series of photos:

03.14.2012 | Long neighborhood walk with Scott - the azaleas are in full bloom here in Houston. Stunning.

 03. 16.2012 | My cousin's wedding was held at my grandparent's beautiful lake house. This is my grandfather watching the goings-on of the rehearsal from the kitchen window.

03.17.2012 | The bride on her wedding day, taking one final check in the mirror before the ceremony.

03.23.2012 | Strawberry field where Scott and I picked strawberries this afternoon.

02.09.12 - 03.12.12

It's been over a month, folks! Over a month since my last "Photo a Day" post... Have no fear, though, I have been taking pictures! BUT, our camera suffered a minor injury and had to go to the camera doctor for about 12 days - no pics taken during that time because I don't have a camera on my phone :/

So, here they are! ---- raw, unedited, straight-out-of-camera (SOOC) (how redundant can I be...?) photographs!
02.09.2012 | Scott's night stand. The boy likes his Burt's Bees chap-stick and pocket knives.

02.10.2012 | A shot from my photo shoot with Ryder (edited)

02.11.2012 | Trees in bloom in Austin, TX

02.16.2012 | I actually had time for decent breakfast :)

02.17.2012 | Scott's Valentine's Day gift from me - a collection of his drawings over the past 4+ years, not quite completed.

02.18.2012 | Balloons from our friend, Eric's, 31st birthday party

02.20.2012 | Cooking dinner (and testing out a borrowed external flash!)

ENTER TIME PERIOD WITH NO CAMERA.....

.....AH... WE'RE BACK :)

03.03.2012 | A shot from Ashton's bridal portraits - truly captures her personality (edited)

03.09.2012 | Weekend with the Carruths and baby Ryder! (now 7 months old!) He loves his "Uncle" Scott!

03.12.2012 | My dinner tonight - homemade, one-pot mac and cheese... yum...

I'm photographing my first ever wedding this weekend!! Prayers for a smooth event would be greatly appreciated :)

Cookie Dough Pops

We needed a little treat for the Super Bowl, and I found these cookie dough pops over at Kevin & Amanda! Who doesn't L.O.V.E. raw cookie dough...? These are guaranteed salmonella free, because you replace each egg with 2 Tbls. of milk!Eat. your. heart. out.

What you need:
.your favorite cookie recipe
.lollipop sticks
.sprinkles
.1 pkg. almond bark

What to do:
.Whip up your favorite cookie recipe, replacing each egg with 2 Tbls. of milk
.Melt almond bark in the microwave or in a double-boiler on the stove
.Form dough into 1" balls
.Dip each lollipop stick into the melted almond bark before inserting into the cookie dough balls, to act as a glue
.Push a lollipop stick into each cookie dough ball and place on a cookie sheet
.Place cookie sheet in the freezer and leave for 15-20 minutes, until dough is hard
.Dip each cookie dough ball into the melted almond bark, creating a nice, even coating
.Roll the coated cookie dough ball in sprinkles, to your liking
.Place in freezer for an addition 5 minutes to harden the almond bark coating
.Serve in a bowl filled with marbles or little candies to keep the pops standing

02.04 | 02.06 | 02.07.2012

So, friends, the photo-a-day challenge, much like most New Years resolutions, has become more like a photo-every-three-days challenge... Cut me a bit of slack while I get my act back together ;)

I have been counting images from recipes and photo shoots with clients as "photo of the day" images, too, so perhaps I'm not that far behind?? I'll just keep telling myself that.

02.04.2012 | Cookie Dough Pops for the Super Bowl... Recipe to come!!
02.06.2012 | Veggie Laska for dinner
02.07.2012 | A gift from a sweet friend - a ring carved out of crayon wax!

Here's to reviving my photo-a-day challenge,
