New Orleans | 12.16-18.2011

New Orleans is only a 6 hour drive from Houston, so why we have lived in Houston for almost 3 years and have NOT frequented until now is beyond me!

Scott took me on a 3-day trip New Orleans for my birthday a few weekends ago! We so happened to go during the weekend of the New Orleans Bowl, in which the UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns played. Oh, and the whole Rajin' Cajun football team plus their cheerleaders and families were staying at our hotel.... Made for some late nights of listening to drunk people screaming down the halls until 3:00 a.m....

Aside from that, though! We had a blast :) We listened to jazz music, ate po-boys, shopped, walked around a beautiful park, and learned a bit of the history of New Orleans!

Day 1:

Day 3:

 French pastries for breakfast at La Boulangerie

 Walk through Audubon Park

And then we drove 6 hours home!

It's Labor Day weekend! Hooray! I hope each of you has made wonderful plans of lounging, eating, and spending time with family and friends. I know I am :)

Scott is off on a road trip to Nashville, TN with a buddy and I am in San Antonio with my college roommates! We try to get together, all 4 of us, at least once a year. But, we are one short. Hannah (yes, I am referring to a roommate, not myself) got sick yesterday so she was unable to join us :(

We are staying at Elizabeth's new home and it is just TOO cute! Her style fits her personality perfectly :) We were greeted at the door by the beast you are about to see featured. His name: Apollo. His stature: HUGE. His personality: sweet as a lamb. Couldn't resist doing a photo shoot with this guy! He was a perfect model. Compliant. Creative with his poses. Dramatic in the eyes.  ;)
