Lane | 11.02.2011

I took her maternity photos back in October, and now she and her husband are celebrating their new family of 3 (4, if you include their sweet little puppy)!

While Kati was still getting ready for the photo shoot, I was able to spend about 15 minutes with just Lane and Dad (and captured a few moments, of course). I obviously have no experience with being a parent, but from the smile on Dad's face and the way he looked at Lane I could feel the sense of love and pride he had for the little life in his arms. The photos practically took themselves :)

Kati had told me that we scheduled the photo shoot right during his nap time, AND he had just been fed, so he should sleep like a champ through the photo shoot. Well, I think we jinxed it because the little guy did not sleep a wink! But, because of that, I was able to frame his bright blue eyes in most of the photos :) Kati texted me later that night and said, "The photo shoot must have worn him out because he has slept all day!" Oh, well....

Baby session part 2: Meet the Parents

We went out Sunday morning before it got crazy hot and had a photo session with Mom and Dad. The photos capture perfectly how much this couple loves their sweet baby :)

Thanks again for being my guinea pigs, J and K.

My first newborn photo session!

I had the immense pleasure of taking newborn photos for some dear, dear friends who had their baby 1 week ago. It was my first time to take "professional" photos of a baby, so I was a bit nervous. Mama was great, though! She had no fear positioning the baby for me and nursing him when he got fussy... and wiping his little bum when he had an accident...

I only got peed on once. I'd say that's pretty good, considering it's a boy...

I knitted this hat for him! He'll grow into it in a few months...

He is every bit as beautiful in real life as he is in these photos :)
